Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has accused Imran Khan of levying unfounded accusations regarding rights violations as a means to divert attention from his own involvement in the tragic events of May 9.

Through a series of tweets, Sharif stated that Khan consistently employed offensive language against state institutions, incited violence, and targeted national symbols. He further asserted that Khan was willing to go to extreme lengths and oversaw a machinery of disinformation that propagated false news.

Sharif also instructed the Chairman of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to completely halt the illegal sale of cigarettes and tobacco products. He mandated the implementation of a track and trace system in all cigarette factories across the country by July 15. Additionally, he emphasized the need to curtail cigarette smuggling and take strict action against those involved in the sale of smuggled cigarettes or evasion of taxes on tobacco-related goods.

In other news, Prime Minister Sharif expressed Pakistan's regard for Japan as a crucial partner in its journey towards progress and prosperity. He encouraged Japanese companies to seize the vast investment opportunities in Pakistan. Sharif welcomed Toyota's initiative to manufacture hybrid vehicles within the country and urged the expansion of spare parts exports, leveraging the country's engineering sector's capabilities.

Lastly, Prime Minister Sharif conducted separate meetings with members of the National Assembly to address issues pertaining to their respective constituencies, development projects, and the overall political landscape of the nation.
